Strengthening One Health in Europe and Central Asia through joint action and collaboration of the Regional One Health Coordination Mechanism
One
Health is an integrated and unifying approach that aims to sustainably balance
and optimize the health of people, animals and ecosystems. Recognizing that
human, animal, plant and environmental health are closely interconnected, the
One Health approach promotes multisectoral collaboration to prevent, detect and
respond to health threats at the human–animal–environment interface.
This
webinar, organized by the Regional One Health Coordination Mechanism for Europe
and Central Asia (ROHCM), brings together the Quadripartite organizations,
including the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, United Nations
Environment Programme, WHO/Europe and World Organisation for Animal Health. The
webinar will highlight how these organizations collaborate to address complex
and emerging health challenges. The event will showcase the role of the ROHCM
in supporting countries to operationalize the One Health approach through
coordinated governance, harmonized technical assistance and joint investments,
aligned with the One Health Joint Plan of Action (2022–2026).
The webinar will begin with an introduction to the ROHCM, followed by presentations on key collaborative initiatives led by the Quadripartite organizations. These initiatives include the Pandemic Fund, AMR Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) and National Bridging Workshops (NBWs), and presentations will outline their background, the role of the Quadripartite and participating countries and next steps. The webinar will also highlight practical country examples to illustrate the added value of One Health collaboration in practice.
This event is part of the One Health Festival accompanying the One Health Summit in Lyon, France on 7 April 2026, showcasing global initiatives linking human, animal and ecosystem health.
